In the week of 4-8 June 2007 the project manager visited together with Richard St. Pierre, Fisheries Consultant and former project manager of the American Shad Restoration Program at the Susquehanna River, USA, and Eric Rochard, shad expert from the project partner CEMAGREF, the Rhine System from the Delta to the new fishway in Gambsheim at the Upper Rhine.
On 7 June they stopped at the Federal State Hessen and visited potential spawning and stocking sites and the migration possibilities at the first dam in the River Main near Kostheim. They were supported by the Ministry of Environment of Hessen and the Sportfishing Association of Hessen.
