Protecting Human Health and the Environment
The North Rhine-Westphalia State Environment Agency (LUA NRW) is a state supervising authority in the portfolio of the NRW Ministry for Environment and Nature Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection in Düsseldorf. Our work ist affected by competence and know-how.
The North Rhine-Westphalia State Environment Agency:
- Discusses and supports the federal state government and the executional authorities
- Runs monitoring networks in the areas of solid, air, water and environmental radioactivity
- Examines and evaluates environmental effects
- Compiles concepts and technical solutions for the environmental discharge
- Develops and maintains IT systems for environmental protection
- Cooperates with national and international scientific institutions
- Raises environmental protection taxes and gives admissions
- Informs the public.
